Gallarus Oratory Nine Standards Rigg Ty Hwll

These photos are examples of walls taken from my "Walling Wonderland" site.

I am trying to identify Britain and Ireland's walling treasures, the best of stonework whether it be walls or structures. These are currently forming a series of articles and snippets in Stonechat the magazine of the North Wales Branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association, and in Waller & Dyker the magazine of the Dry Stone walling Association of GB. I hope to turn them into a slide presentation and even harbour far fetched dreams of turning them into a book. It all began on the DSWA on-line Discussion forum following on from something about the TV series "Around the World in 80 Gardens", which mutated into 80 stone walls and then why not Britain alone.

Click Here to visit the site, which has detailed sections on North Wales Quarries, The Aran Islands, Skellig Michael, and other sections covering Nine standards Rigg, Shibden, The stiles of Askrigg, Brochs, Ring-forts, types of wall, etc.
